A note from me

Thank you for coming to look at my photos. I had hoped to get more today (day 4) and yesterday, but unfortunatly I am trapped in a hotel room with 3 sick kids. Also, most of the photos have "spots" and normally I would have edited those out, but right now I simply don't have the access to the software needed for that. All of the photos are straight off the camera. The spots are caused by debris on my camera sensor, I will need to have it professionaly cleaned but I needed the photos now! Sometime in the next few days I have a babysitter set up and I will go and photograph the damage wherever I can. In addition, I realize many photos, especiallythe night shots are blurry. So sorry, I was using a slow shutter speed and forgot my tripod, it was difficult. A learning Experience for me.
Right now our house remains standing, but not "out of the woods" so to speak. Our area borders the containment line, so if it breaks we are in trouble. Please see the links on this page to see news articles and the fire maps.
My own neighborhood is the one that is bordered by the fire on the left and bottom of the map, its called Gardner Mountain.

Hundreds of people in our community are now homeless. They have nothing more than the clothes on their back. Food, medicine, toiletries, and money are desperatly needed. If you can help please contact the Red Cross.

Check back over the coming days for my photos.

Thank You,
Amanda Tumbaga
